Most Hearing aids have what is known as a T switch. T stands for telecoil.

Telecoils allow a hard of hearing person who wears a hearing aid with the telecoil facility to hear a sound from a loop only without the interference of general surrounding noise. Hence a phonecall in a train station is possible.
